Chaos erupted on Thursday at the IVY County high-rise residential society in Sector-74, Noida (adjacent to Delhi), when a massive fire suddenly broke out in a flat on the 12th floor of one of the buildings. The blaze was so intense that towering flames and billows of black smoke pouring from the flat’s windows and balcony were visible from a distance. The incident triggered panic throughout the society.

Multiple Fire Tenders Reach the Scene

Upon receiving reports of the fire on the 12th floor, local police and fire department teams rushed to the site. Given the severity of the blaze, multiple fire tenders were deployed. Firefighters are engaged in relief and rescue operations, utilizing hydraulic cranes and modern firefighting equipment to reach the fire at that height.

Alongside efforts to bring the fire under control, teams are ensuring that no one remains trapped inside the flat or any part of the building. The rescue operation is currently ongoing.

Tower Evacuated as a Precaution

As a safety measure, the affected tower and adjacent flats were immediately evacuated. Residents were guided to safety via the staircases. The administration took these precautionary steps to prevent the spread of fire and smoke and to ensure there was no loss of life.

An atmosphere of anxiety and fear prevailed among the society’s residents following the incident, with many seen moving towards safer locations with their families.

Investigation into the Cause Underway

The official cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Preliminary suspicions point to a short circuit or an appliance kept on the balcony, though this can only be confirmed once the investigation is complete.

According to officials, there have been no reports of casualties so far. The priority is to fully extinguish the fire and bring the situation under control. Fire and police teams remain on-site, closely monitoring the situation.
