उत्तर प्रदेश में कुदरत का कहर, तूफान और भारी बारिश ने दो दिनों में लील ली 24 लोगों की जान
Over the past two days, heavy rainfall, severe storms, and lightning strikes have caused significant damage across Uttar Pradesh, resulting in the deaths of at least 24 people. According to government reports, 15 people have sustained injuries in incidents triggered by the adverse weather, while 16 livestock animals have also perished.
In several districts across the state, persistent rain, strong winds, and frequent lightning strikes have exacerbated conditions, severely disrupting daily life. Farmers working in open fields, people outdoors, and families residing in kuccha (mud-and-thatch) houses have been the most severely affected. Incidents involving falling trees, power outages, and waterlogging have also been reported in numerous locations.
Chief Minister Adityanath has expressed his deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. He assured the public that, during this difficult time, the state government stands firmly and resolutely with all affected families.
The Chief Minister has directed officials to ensure that the injured receive immediate and appropriate medical treatment, and that all necessary healthcare facilities are made available in hospitals. He further mandated that compensation for the deceased, the injured, and for the loss of livestock be disbursed within 24 hours.
District Magistrates and other concerned officials have been instructed to expedite relief and rescue operations. The Chief Minister issued a stern warning that any form of negligence or delay in providing assistance would not be tolerated.
Administrative teams are actively engaged in relief operations across the affected districts. They are conducting door-to-door surveys to assess the extent of the damage and are delivering aid to those in need.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the likelihood of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning strikes in several parts of the state over the coming days, indicating that the danger has not yet fully subsided.
Weather patterns are also shifting in other parts of North India. Several regions—including Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR)—experienced rainfall and hailstorms on Thursday, providing much-needed relief from the heatwave. The IMD has also predicted light to moderate rainfall in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh on Friday.
