Now, after the UPSC has clarified the situation, the biggest question remains: how did this error occur? Did Akanksha, the granddaughter of Brahmeshwar Mukhiya, commit fraud, or was it due to a mistake on the part of the commission? In either case, will the commission take any legal action?
UPSC रिजल्ट विवाद: 301 रैंक ब्रह्मेश्वर मुखिया की पोती का नहीं हुआ चयन, आयोग ने किया साफ
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has clarified that Akanksha Singh, granddaughter of Brahmeshwar Mukhiya, a resident of Bihar, has not been selected for the Civil Services Examination 2025. The Commission clarified that Akanksha Singh, a doctor from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, has been selected at rank 301.
Following the controversy surrounding two candidates claiming the same rank, the UPSC today clarified that the final result of the Civil Services Examination 2025 was declared on March 6, 2026. Several media reports have circulated claiming that two candidates with the same name, Akanksha Singh, have secured the same rank of 301 in the final result of the Civil Services Examination 2025. In this regard, it is clarified that, according to the Commission’s records, the successful candidate securing rank 301 in the final result of the Civil Services Examination 2025 is Akanksha Singh, a resident of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, whose parents are Neelam Singh and Ranjit Singh.
Earlier, after the results were announced on March 6, Akanksha Singh, a resident of Ara, Bihar, and granddaughter of Ranvir Sena founder Brahmeshwar Mukhiya, claimed that she was the one who secured rank 301 in the Civil Services Examination 2025, with roll number 0856794. However, another Akanksha Singh from Uttar Pradesh also claimed that she held the 301st rank, with roll number 0856794.
Meanwhile, the UPSC result listed AIR 301 as Akanksha Singh, with roll number 0856794. This led to widespread confusion over both Akanksha Singhs’ claims. Various discussions erupted on social media regarding their claims. Newspapers and news channels aired interviews with both claiming success, further fueling the controversy.
However, now that the UPSC has clarified the situation, this controversy is likely to subside. But the biggest question remains: how did this confusion occur? Did Akanksha Singh, granddaughter of Brahmeshwar Mukhiya, commit fraud, or did this happen due to a mistake on the part of the Commission? In either case, will the Commission take any legal action?
