Three unidentified individuals on a motorcycle allegedly opened fire at the Barnala-based ancestral home of Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu, who is considered a close associate of Sidhu Moosewala. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, showing three masked individuals firing shots at the house.

Unidentified assailants opened rapid fire at the ancestral home of famous Punjabi singer Gulab Sidhu in Farwahi village, Barnala district, Punjab. The incident reportedly occurred between 1:30 AM and 2:00 AM on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Three youths arriving on a motorcycle fired approximately 7 to 8 rounds, targeting the gate of the singer’s house. Fortunately, no family member was injured in the shooting. At the time of the incident, Gulab Sidhu was abroad for musical shows and live performances.
A CCTV or mobile video of the incident has also surfaced, clearly showing the entire attack. The video shows three youths arriving on a single motorcycle and stopping near Gulab Sidhu’s house. The youth seated in the middle loads a pistol and begins firing rapidly at the gate, while the youth seated behind him is also seen firing shots. Meanwhile, the third youth, who was driving the motorcycle, was recording the entire incident on his mobile phone. After the shooting, all three fled the scene.
Following the incident, an alleged audio message has surfaced in which gangster Doni Bal claims responsibility for orchestrating the shooting at Gulab Sidhu’s house. However, the police and local media are currently verifying the authenticity of this audio. Gulab Sidhu was one of the close friends of the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Since Moosewala’s murder, Sidhu has been receiving constant death threats and extortion calls. Based on these threats and security inputs, the Punjab Police had already provided him with two security personnel.
Failed attempt to attack in January 2026
This is not the first time Gulab Sidhu has been targeted by criminals. Earlier, on January 10, 2026, the Barnala Police had foiled a major plot by arresting three accused individuals who were planning an attack on the singer. The prime conspirator in the case was Baljinder Singh (Kinda), the Sarpanch of Kotduna village, who was angered by the lyrics of Gulab Sidhu’s popular song ‘Sarpanchiyan’. He intended to attack the singer during a live show to instill fear in the area, thereby paving the way for extorting a hefty ransom later.
Police and Forensic Teams Investigate
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Sadar police station team immediately arrived at the scene, sealed off the area, and launched an investigation. Police officials stated that CCTV footage from the village’s entry and exit points, as well as from main roads, is being meticulously examined. Forensic teams have collected spent cartridges and other evidence from the site. The police assert that the accused will soon be identified and face strict legal action.
