A three-story commercial building collapsed on Saturday evening near the Saket Metro Station in South Delhi. In the relief and rescue operations launched following the incident, 12 people have been safely evacuated so far. Of these, the condition of two individuals is reported to be critical. According to officials, there are currently no indications that any other person remains trapped under the debris; however, the search operation is still ongoing.

Entire Structure Reduced to a Massive Pile of Rubble

Following the collapse, the entire structure was transformed into a large heap of rubble. Broken concrete slabs, damaged pillars, and twisted iron girders were seen scattered across the accident site. The building has been completely demolished.

12 People Rescued in Relief Operation

Upon receiving information about the accident, rescue teams rushed to the spot and initiated an operation to extract those trapped within the debris. A senior police officer stated that a total of 12 people have been rescued so far. Among them, two individuals are critically injured and have been sent to a hospital for treatment.

The officer added that, based on current assessments, it does not appear that anyone else remains trapped beneath the rubble. Nevertheless, as a precautionary measure, the search operation is being continued to ensure that every possibility is thoroughly ruled out.

Incident to be Investigated; Case Being Registered

The police have stated that a case regarding the incident will be registered. The causes behind the building’s collapse, along with other related aspects, will be investigated. Currently, the focus of the administration and rescue agencies remains on completing the search operation and assessing the overall situation.

Security arrangements in the area have been heightened following the accident, while rescue personnel continue to meticulously scour the debris. Officials have stated that the final status of the situation will become clear only after the rescue operation has been fully concluded.
