Gold and silver witnessed a decline this week, resulting in prices becoming cheaper by over ₹1,000 and ₹3,000, respectively.

Gold Performance This Week

According to the India Bullion Jewelers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold fell by ₹1,216 this week to reach ₹150,263 per 10 grams, down from its previous level of ₹151,479.

The price of 22-carat gold declined to ₹137,641 per 10 grams, compared to its previous rate of ₹138,755 per 10 grams. Similarly, the price of 18-carat gold dropped to ₹112,697 per 10 grams, down from ₹113,609 per 10 grams.

This week, the lowest price for gold was recorded on April 29 at ₹147,973 per 10 grams, while the highest price was observed on April 27 at ₹151,186 per 10 grams.

Alongside gold, silver prices also witnessed a decline.

Silver Performance

The price of silver fell by ₹3,494 to reach ₹240,331 per kilogram, down from its previous level of ₹243,828 per kilogram.

This week, the lowest price for silver was recorded on April 29 at ₹236,300 per kilogram, while the highest price was observed on April 27 at ₹243,720 per kilogram.

International Market Overview

Due to global volatility, international gold prices have dropped to $4,585 per ounce, while silver prices have moved closer to the $74 per ounce mark. Experts’ Opinion

According to experts, the decline in gold and silver prices is attributed to signals from the Fed indicating rising inflation, coupled with hawkish commentary, which has diminished the likelihood of interest rate cuts this year.

Furthermore, they noted that gold and silver prices remain under pressure due to crude oil prices consistently hovering at elevated levels.
