105 Indian tourists have gone missing due to flash floods in Nepal. Among them were 31 pilgrims who were on their way to Mansarovar. The Nepal Tourism Board provided this information.

105 Indian tourists have gone missing following flash floods in Nepal. Among them were 31 pilgrims en route to Mansarovar. The Nepal Tourism Board provided this information, stating that they are gathering details about the missing Indians. According to the Board, approximately 400 tourists are missing in total; this includes 291 foreign tourists and over 90 tourists who are residents of Nepal.
14 Customs Office Employees Missing
According to Nepali media, 14 employees of the customs office in Timure, Rasuwa, are currently out of contact. These include 11 permanent staff members and three contractual employees. Meanwhile, the whereabouts of 25 other employees, including the head of the customs office, Rajendra Dhungana, have been confirmed.
Similarly, 60 people associated with the 20-megawatt Langtang Khola Hydropower Project are missing. So far, eight people have lost their lives due to the floods, and seven bodies have been recovered. The Government of Nepal has deployed helicopters and drones for rescue operations.
Indian High Commission Issues Helpline
The Indian High Commission in Nepal has issued helpline numbers for those stranded in the floods. A tweet from the High Commission stated that for assistance and information regarding Indian citizens affected by the flash floods in Nepal, the following emergency numbers can be contacted: +977 985 131 6807 and +977 970 910 7500.
Rescue of Missing Persons via 12 Helicopters
According to the Nepali Army, 12 people have been rescued by helicopter so far. Six were evacuated from Syaphrubesi, two from Mailung, and four from Dhunche. Four Nepali Army helicopters and eight private-sector helicopters have been deployed for the rescue operations. Five other individuals stranded in the floods have also been safely evacuated and taken to the hospital. Initially, 35 Army personnel have been deployed for rescue operations. The government has declared three districts as the worst-affected by the floods. The rescue operation was discussed during a cabinet meeting.
1,000 people and over 60 houses swept away by floods
Floods entering Nepal from Tibet via the Bhote Koshi River have swept away 1,000 people. Floodwaters also washed away approximately 60 houses near Trishuli Bazaar in Nuwakot. Two motorable bridges have been damaged, and the Devghat area has also been affected. It is estimated that over 300 vehicles have been swept away.
The floods have damaged the Trishuli and Devghat hydroelectric projects. Additionally, three blocks of a 25-megawatt solar power plant and a substation were washed away.
