At least four people were killed and 18 others injured in a gas cylinder explosion in the Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, a police official stated.

At least two houses were destroyed in the blast. While the incident was initially attributed to a gas cylinder explosion, officials noted that, given the intensity of the blast, it might not have been limited solely to a gas cylinder.

The official stated, “Four people have died and 18 others have sustained injuries, one of whom is in critical condition.”

Earlier, according to S. Satish, the Superintendent of Police (SP) for the Sri Sathya Sai district, the explosion occurred at 12:30 PM. He further informed that laborers from Telangana were residing in the house where the blast took place.
