A tense situation arose in the Sihora area of Jabalpur district, Madhya Pradesh, on Thursday night following a dispute between two groups. Stone-throwing and vandalism were reported during the incident in the Azad Chowk area. Police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control and tightened security in the area.
How did the dispute begin?
According to local information, aarti was being performed in the Durga temple complex on Thursday night, while prayers were being offered at a nearby mosque. A dispute erupted over some issue. It is alleged that a young man was assaulted, the temple grille was damaged, and stones were pelted. However, police say no religious site was seriously damaged.
Immediate action by the police and administration
Upon receiving information about the incident, the Sihora police station, along with additional police forces from nearby police stations, arrived at the scene. Police officers were also dispatched from the district headquarters. Police immediately brought the situation under control and increased patrolling in the area.
Jabalpur Collector Raghavendra Singh and Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay also arrived at the scene. The Superintendent of Police stated that no casualties were reported in the incident and the situation is completely under control. Adequate police force has been deployed in the area.

The Azad Chowk area has already been considered sensitive. Tension has persisted in the area since the incident, although the situation is calm. Police are continuously monitoring the situation and appealing to the public to maintain peace.
