In the high-profile Ankita Bhandari murder case in Uttarakhand, the identity of the alleged “VIP” remains a subject of suspense. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is handling the probe, has intensified its efforts. Recently, former MLA Suresh Rathore appeared before a CBI court in Dehradun, where he consented to undergo a narco-analysis test and pledged full cooperation with the investigation.

Meanwhile, actress Urmila Sanawar—who is also linked to the case—received a court notice and subsequently appeared before the CBI court. Urmila has alleged a lack of cooperation from the police and has requested a meeting with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. It should be noted, however, that consenting to a narco-analysis test does not constitute an admission of guilt or confirm any allegations; the outcome of the procedure will only be determined once the investigation progresses.

The CBI magistrate court had issued notices to both individuals to seek their consent for a narco-analysis test in connection with a case involving a viral audio clip. The court had directed them to appear on Friday. Former MLA Suresh Rathore arrived at the court around 10:30 AM and provided his consent for the test. About half an hour later, actress Urmila Sanawar also arrived at the court and similarly consented to the procedure.

These appearances are considered significant for the ongoing investigation into the audio and video clips that surfaced, which allegedly mention a “VIP” in relation to the Ankita Bhandari murder case. Nevertheless, even with this consent, further steps must be taken to finalize the procedures and the specific terms and conditions under which the tests will be conducted.
