The weather has once again taken a turn in the national capital Delhi today, due to which heavy rain has occurred in many parts of the city. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi and surrounding areas, as heavy rains with strong winds have been predicted in the future. This seasonal change has brought relief from heat and humidity for Delhiites, but at the same time waterlogging and traffic problems may also arise. According to the Meteorological Department’s warning, Delhi-NCR is cloudy since this morning, and heavy rains have started in some areas. Weather experts say that this rain is the result of western disturbance and monsoon activity. Delhiites have been advised to be cautious while leaving the house and travel only when necessary.

Rain alert in Delhi Yellow Alert

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Delhi and NCR and said that heavy rains have started in many parts of the city today. According to the IMD, “Conditions are favorable for rain in the city. Rain is expected on both Tuesday and Wednesday.” Along with this, strong winds are also likely to blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour, due to which people have been advised to remain alert.

Waterlogging and impact on traffic

Delhi has seen waterlogging and traffic jams many times before due to rain. According to the Meteorological Department’s warning, this time too, the problem of waterlogging may arise in low-lying areas. Especially, areas like RK Puram, Khanpur, and Minto Road are likely to get waterlogged. Delhiites have been suggested to follow the traffic advisory and avoid unnecessary travel.

Air quality expected to improve

With heavy rains, Delhi’s air quality is expected to improve. Currently, Delhi’s Air Quality (AQI) is fine. Weather experts say that rain can help reduce pollution levels, which will give some relief to Delhiites. However, there is also a possibility of trees falling or problems in power lines due to strong winds.

Weather for the next few days

According to the Meteorological Department, rain may continue in Delhi for the next two to three days. After this, some improvement in the weather is expected, but there will be a possibility of light drizzle and cloudy weather. Delhiites are advised to keep an eye on weather updates and organize their daily routine accordingly.
