Following confirmation that the question paper was leaked approximately 24 hours before the exam, the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), Pune, has postponed the examination scheduled for June 28, 2026, until further notice.

Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the NEET exam paper leak, the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2026 has now also been hit by a similar incident. After confirming that the question paper had been leaked approximately 24 hours before the scheduled time, the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), Pune, has postponed the exam—originally set for June 28, 2026—until further notice.
Around 4.28 lakh candidates from across the state were expected to appear for this exam. A total of 1,028 centers had been set up, and the Council had claimed to have put stringent security measures in place. Despite this, a raid conducted on Saturday morning—based on a tip-off received by the Bhiwandi police—revealed that certain individuals were in possession of questions matching those on the official TET paper.

Following an investigation, the Maharashtra State Council of Examination confirmed that some of the recovered questions were indeed part of the actual exam paper. Consequently, a case was registered at the Bhiwandi police station, and a decision was made to postpone the exam with immediate effect.
The Council maintains that conducting a fair and transparent examination is its top priority; therefore, the exam will not be held until a detailed investigation into the matter is concluded. The new exam date and other relevant details will be announced on the Council’s official website.
It is worth noting that this is not the first instance of a TET paper leak in Maharashtra; an incident involving the leak of the TET question paper from Kolhapur had also come to light in 2025.
