अमेरिका का ताकतवर B-52 बॉम्बर क्रैश, उड़ान के कुछ मिनट बाद ही आग के गोले में हुआ तब्दील, 8 की मौत
A US Air Force B-52 bomber crashed just minutes after taking off from Edwards Air Force Base in Southern California. All eight people on board perished in the accident. According to the Air Force base, the crash occurred at 11:20 AM local time on Monday while the aircraft was on a routine mission. Following the crash, a massive plume of black smoke was seen rising from the site, visible from miles away.
Air Force Describes Tragic Accident
Colonel James Heas of Edwards Air Force Base told reporters that a deeply tragic accident had occurred at the base, resulting in the loss of eight outstanding Americans. He stated that the crash was so severe that there was no possibility of survival. According to Colonel Heas, those on board included military personnel, government employees, and contractors.
He noted that the cause of the accident is not yet known and a detailed investigation will be conducted. The actual cause will only be determined after a preliminary investigation. Heas added that the entire investigative process could take more than six months.
Crash Occurred on the Runway
According to the Air Force, the crash took place within the base’s runway area. Following the accident, several operational activities at the base have been temporarily suspended for safety reasons. Colonel Heas explained that the B-52 bomber was supporting the air base’s radar modernization program. Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft lost control and caught fire. Emergency response teams arrived at the scene immediately and initiated rescue operations, but none of the individuals on board could be saved.
B-52 Bomber Capable of Carrying Nuclear Weapons
The B-52 bomber is considered one of the US Air Force’s oldest and most powerful aircraft. It first entered service in 1955. It is a long-range heavy bomber capable of carrying up to approximately 70,000 pounds of bombs and other weaponry.
The US Air Force currently operates the B-52H model. Capable of carrying nuclear bombs as well as nuclear-armed cruise missiles, the aircraft is considered a vital component of America’s strategic military power.
Used in missions against Iran
The B-52 bomber plays a crucial role in the US Air Force fleet; currently, 76 of these aircraft are in active service. The aircraft was deployed for bombing missions during recent tensions and military operations between the US and Iran. It can fly at altitudes of up to 50,000 feet and possesses mid-air refueling capabilities, effectively giving it an almost unlimited operational range. The B-52 bomber was also a key element of America’s nuclear defense shield during the Cold War era.
Investigation into the incident begins
The US Air Force has launched a detailed investigation into the accident. No official information regarding the cause of the crash has been released so far. Investigative agencies are examining the aircraft’s technical records, flight data, and other critical aspects to determine the actual cause of the incident.
