A horrific and spine-chilling road accident occurred on the Dwarka Expressway. A speeding car mowed down four laborers who were carrying out repair work on the flyover near Shriram Chowk. The impact was so severe that the front of the car was completely mangled. Two of the laborers died tragically on the spot, while the husband and wife traveling in the car sustained serious injuries.
According to the police, the deceased laborers have been identified as Bijendra and Pappu; they were originally from Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. This is considered the most serious accident on the Dwarka Expressway to date, involving four people being struck by a car simultaneously. The incident occurred while work was underway to install iron grilles to secure the divider near Shriram Chowk.
Reports indicate that four laborers were working at night to install a heavy iron grille. After positioning the grille, two laborers were tightening the screws, while the other two stood holding it firmly against the divider.
Suddenly, a speeding car coming from the direction of Delhi plowed directly into the laborers holding the grille. The impact was so forceful that two laborers died instantly. Meanwhile, the other two laborers, seeing the car speeding towards them, jumped towards the green belt in the middle of the expressway to save their lives. However, the car was moving so fast that it careened out of control, crashed into the green belt, and struck the two laborers who had jumped there. The car’s driver also sustained serious injuries in the accident.
Due to the darkness at night, the driver failed to spot the four laborers working on the road, leading to this horrific accident. Locals state that if there had been adequate lighting and proper barricading, the lives of these innocent laborers could have been saved.
Upon receiving news of the accident, the police and local residents rushed to the scene. The critically injured laborers and the car driver were immediately admitted to the nearby Vibrant Hospital, where two were declared dead, while the condition of the injured remains critical.
