झारखंड: खूंटी में बेकाबू ट्रक ने कई लोगों को कुचला, 4 महिलाओं सहित तीन बच्चों की मौत
A harrowing road accident occurred on Thursday night near the Jone-Ludru bend on the Karra-Torpa main road, within the jurisdiction of the Karra police station in Jharkhand’s Khunti district. Seven people were killed after being struck by a speeding, out-of-control truck. The victims include four women and three children, among them an 11-month-old infant. A five-year-old girl was also critically injured in the incident and is currently undergoing treatment at the Khunti Sadar Hospital.
According to reports, the victims were all from the same family or were acquaintances from the neighborhood. Hearing a loud noise on the road, they had stepped out of their homes, fearing that an accident had taken place. Little did they know that the very incident they had come to investigate would become the final moment of their lives.
Crowd gathered following a scooter accident; then, an out-of-control truck struck
Eyewitnesses and family members stated that on Thursday night, a scooter lost control near the Jone-Ludru bend and veered into the bushes along the roadside. Hearing the sound of the crash, residents from the nearby settlement rushed to the scene. Some were attempting to assist the person on the scooter, who had become trapped in the bushes.
At that moment, a heavy truck approaching at high speed from the direction of Torpa lost control, striking and crushing the people standing by the roadside. The impact was so severe that the truck broke through the wall of a culvert and plunged into a ditch below. Following the accident, both the driver and the cleaner of the truck fled the scene.
Three members of the same family killed in the accident
The tragedy has devastated the family of Birsa Nayak, a resident of Kaushambi Harijan Colony, who lost three of his family members. The victims include his wife, Jayanti Devi; his 20-year-old daughter, Anjali Kumari; and Anjali’s 11-month-old son, Saurav Nayak. Additionally, Manhu Devi, 65-year-old Pako Devi, 12-year-old Golu Kumar, and six-year-old Tuti Kumari also lost their lives in the accident.
Meanwhile, Khushbu Kumari—the five-year-old daughter of Birsa Nayak—sustained serious injuries. She was immediately admitted to Khunti Sadar Hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment.
