उत्तर प्रदेश के मिर्जापुर में सड़क हादसा, 4 गाड़ियों के आपस में टकराने के बाद लगी आग, 11 लोगों की मौत
Eleven people, including four children, died after two cars caught fire following a collision with a truck in the Drummondganj hilly area, located within the jurisdiction of the Jigna police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district. The police provided this information on Thursday.
An official stated that the victims of the accident—which occurred around 8:30 PM on Wednesday night—were identified late at night.
Superintendent of Police Aparna Rajat Kaushik explained that a truck loaded with chickpeas, traveling from Madhya Pradesh, went out of control due to brake failure on the steep slope of the Badka Mor hill. It first collided with a jeep and subsequently struck a car traveling ahead of it.
She added that following the initial impact, the car crashed into a gravel-laden truck moving ahead of it, causing both the car and the jeep to catch fire.
The Superintendent of Police noted that the entire sequence of events unfolded so rapidly that the occupants of the cars did not have enough time to escape, and all of them were burned alive.
According to Kaushik, the deceased include Priyanka Singh (42), Kartikeya Singh (19), Piyush Singh (15), Pankaj Singh (40), Beena Singh (47), Vandana Singh (43), Shiv Singh (4), Sonam Singh (9), Vishnu Singh (4), Vikas Sharma (32), and Jaiprakash (28).
She further stated that the truck driver also perished in the accident. The Superintendent of Police informed that, among the 11 victims, seven were residents of Mirzapur, three were from Madhya Pradesh, and one was from Sonbhadra.
According to the police, the bodies were so severely charred that identification proved difficult. The victims could only be identified late at night after their relatives arrived at the scene.
The police added that the fire engulfing the two cars following the accident was so intense that it took the fire brigade more than two hours to bring it under control.
