Three laborers died and nine others were injured in a collision between an Eeco car and a truck on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (KMP Expressway) in Haryana’s Sonipat district. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment.

This tragic accident occurred on the KMP Expressway near Gopalpur village, within the jurisdiction of the Kharkhoda police station in Sonipat. The laborers traveling in the Eeco car were natives of Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh. They were on their way to Jhajjar for the pearl millet (bajra) harvest.

One body extracted by cutting open the vehicle

The collision was so severe that the Eeco car was completely wrecked. Locals and passersby helped pull the injured out immediately. Meanwhile, one body had to be extracted by cutting open the vehicle.

Officials stated that five of the nine injured are in critical condition. They have been referred to Rohtak PGI, while four are undergoing treatment at Kharkhoda Hospital. The Kharkhoda police have taken possession of the bodies and sent them to Sonipat for post-mortem examinations.

Earlier, six people died and 14 others were injured when a pickup vehicle collided with a stationary truck on the KMP Expressway in Palwal, Haryana.

Returning after visiting Khatu Shyam

It was reported that the occupants of the pickup vehicle were from the Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh. They were returning after visiting the Khatu Shyam temple and other religious sites in Rajasthan. They were planning to visit Vrindavan next. However, the vehicle collided with a truck around 4:30 AM on Tuesday.

A total of six people died in this collision, including three women. The deceased were identified as Vijay (75), Rajkumar (40), Reshma (45), Kamala (65), Sudha (52), and Mahesh (60). All the injured were admitted to a hospital in Palwal.
