He began his career as a producer in 1982 with the film Hathkadi, which featured a star-studded cast including Shatrughan Sinha, Reena Roy, and Sanjeev Kumar. Additionally, he served as the Chairman of the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) from 2015 to 2017.
