State Chief Minister Siddaramaiah arrived at the hospital immediately after the incident involving the collapse of a compound wall near Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital.

Following the incident, CM Siddaramaiah personally visited the scene to take stock of the situation. Expressing grief over the deaths of seven people, the CM has ordered an inquiry into the incident. Additionally, the CM announced a compensation of ₹5 lakh each to the families of the deceased on behalf of the government.
On Wednesday, in Karnataka’s capital, Bengaluru, a sudden severe storm accompanied by heavy rainfall caused the collapse of a compound wall within a government hospital complex; seven people, including three children, were killed after being trapped under the debris. Several others were also injured in this incident and have been admitted to the hospital.
State CM Siddaramaiah rushed to the hospital immediately after the compound wall collapsed near the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital to meet with the injured and inquire about their condition. Meanwhile, expressing his condolences over the loss of seven lives, CM Siddaramaiah ordered an investigation into the incident. He also announced a compensation of ₹5 lakh each to the families of the deceased from the government’s side.
Subsequently, CM Siddaramaiah personally visited the actual site where the wall had collapsed, resulting in multiple fatalities. Amidst the heavy rain, he inspected the fallen wall and issued necessary instructions to the officials. Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar also visited the hospital to meet with those injured in the wall collapse near the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital and to inquire about their well-being.
The Bengaluru Police stated that the accident occurred at the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital premises. Police officials explained that due to heavy rain and strong winds, all seven victims had taken shelter near the wall when it suddenly collapsed. All seven individuals died on the spot after being crushed under the debris of the wall. According to police sources, all seven deceased individuals were street vendors.
Immediately upon receiving information about the incident, police and emergency service personnel rushed to the scene and, with the assistance of local residents, extricated the bodies from the rubble. All the victims were immediately transported to the hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead. The process of identifying the deceased is currently underway. Meanwhile, CM Siddaramaiah has ordered an inquiry into the incident and announced compensation for the families of the victims.
