A 22-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death following an altercation in the Mandawali area of ​​East Delhi; the police shared this information on Friday. Officials stated that 17 stab wounds were found on the victim’s body.

The police reported receiving information about the incident at the Mandawali police station at 7:54 PM on Thursday. A police team immediately rushed to the location near Gyan Vatika School in Mandawali.

A police officer stated that the injured victim, Vansh Dedha (22), was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead. A medical examination revealed 17 stab wounds on his body.

Preliminary investigations revealed that following an altercation, Keshav Kumar (22), a resident of Karawal Nagar, allegedly chased Vansh along with an accomplice. Near Gyan Vatika School, the duo repeatedly stabbed Vansh with a sharp-edged weapon before fleeing the scene.

The police stated that a murder case has been registered at the Mandawali police station in connection with the incident.

The officer added that the prime accused, Keshav Kumar, has been arrested, while the second attacker has been identified and efforts are underway to apprehend him.

According to the police, the knife used in the crime and the clothes worn by the accused at the time of the incident have been recovered. The motorcycle used by the accused has also been seized.

Officials stated that CCTV footage from the vicinity of the crime scene is being examined, and efforts to arrest the absconding accused are ongoing.
