रेसलिंग फेडरेशन की चेतावनी रही बेकार, संघर्ष जारी रखेंगी विनेश फोगाट का ऐलान

Despite the show-cause notice issued by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), veteran female wrestler Vinesh Phogat has signaled her intent to continue her fight.

Sharing a post on social media, Vinesh wrote, “Life feels trapped in a deep vortex. The world keeps finding flaws in my character. Life has always held your head high; no sword possesses the strength to make it bow. She remains firmly resolved to continue the fight, notwithstanding this setback.”

The Wrestling Federation of India has issued a show-cause notice to Vinesh Phogat. The notice accuses Vinesh of indiscipline and violations of anti-doping regulations. Consequently, Vinesh has been declared ineligible to participate in domestic tournaments until June 26.

In a 15-page notice, the Wrestling Federation of India alleged that Vinesh failed to complete the mandatory six-month notice period required for athletes returning from retirement under the United World Wrestling (UWW) anti-doping regulations. This implies that the two-time World Championship medalist will have to wait before making her return to the sport of wrestling.

The notice further states that Vinesh’s actions during the Paris Olympics controversy have caused irreparable damage to the reputation of Indian wrestling. It asserts that the WFI Constitution, UWW International Wrestling Rules, and anti-doping guidelines have been violated.

Vinesh had set her sights on making a comeback through the National Open Ranking Event, scheduled to begin this Sunday in Gonda. Vinesh had previously retired from the sport after being disqualified from the 2024 Paris Olympics qualifiers due to being overweight.

Vinesh had recently announced her return to wrestling with the aim of winning a medal for the country on the global stage and fulfilling her unfinished dream. She was looking to make her comeback via the National Open Ranking Event, but she will now have to wait.
