India | Six members of family killed in car accident in UP’s Jalaun

Six people died and four others sustained serious injuries in a tragic road accident on Monday morning in the Kalpi Kotwali area of ​​Jalaun.

Uttar Pradesh: Six people lost their lives in a horrific road accident that occurred early Monday morning within the jurisdiction of the Kalpi police station area in Jalaun district. Four individuals died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Four other injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment. The accident took place near the Jolhupur turn, where a car returning to Orai from Ayodhya went out of control—reportedly after the driver dozed off at the wheel—and collided with a vehicle moving ahead of it.

The victims were returning after offering prayers at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and were heading towards Mehroni (Lalitpur). Following the accident, the injured were admitted to the Jalaun Medical College and the Community Health Centre (CHC), where two of them breathed their last while undergoing treatment. The district administration has taken serious cognizance of the matter; the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police visited the accident site to take stock of the situation.

It is reported that a total of 10 people were traveling in the car, and all of them belong to the same family. Local residents informed the police immediately after the accident occurred. Upon reaching the scene, the police initiated rescue operations and transported the injured to the hospital. The police have completed the necessary formalities regarding the bodies of the deceased and have sent them for a post-mortem examination.

Taking cognizance of the road accident in Jalaun district, Chief Minister Adityanath has expressed his condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased. The Chief Minister has directed officials to reach the accident site immediately and to expedite relief operations.
