A horrific accident occurred on Monday morning near Mathiya Mor in the Dinara police station area of Bihar’s Rohtas district, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuries to approximately ten others, who have been admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
According to reports, residents of Mathiya village were returning home by bus after attending the Tilak ceremony—a pre-wedding ritual—for the daughter of Ashok Kumar in Lodhi village, located in the Chenari area. During the journey, near Mathiya Mor, the bus collided violently with a container truck. Following the accident, chaos ensued amidst screams and cries for help; locals from the surrounding area immediately rushed to the scene and began relief and rescue operations.
The impact of the collision was so severe that five passengers on board the bus died on the spot. Several others sustained injuries and were transported to a hospital for medical attention. The incident has plunged the families of the deceased into deep mourning and distress.
Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and brought the situation under control. The police took custody of the bodies and sent them for a post-mortem examination. The police are currently investigating the entire matter and are attempting to determine the exact causes that led to the accident.
Meanwhile, another incident has come to light in Rohtas, where a minor dispute escalated into a violent confrontation in Girdhariya village, located within the Shivsagar police station area. It is reported that an altercation broke out between two factions over issues concerning the drainage of wastewater and the placement of an electric pole. The dispute gradually intensified to such an extent that one faction attacked the other using knives.
In this attack, a man named Pappu Singh lost his life, while Vakil Singh sustained severe injuries. The injured victim is currently undergoing medical treatment. The incident has created a tense atmosphere within the village, prompting the police to take immediate action to maintain order.
According to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Shivsagar, the police have acted swiftly in this case and have arrested two accused individuals, including one woman. The body of the deceased has been sent to the Sasaram Sadar Hospital, where a post-mortem examination is being conducted. The police have stated that the investigation into the matter is ongoing and that strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
