A cyclonic circulation is also active in the lower troposphere over the Gulf of Mannar.

Additionally, the subtropical westerly jet stream is active over Jammu and Kashmir at an altitude of approximately 12.6 kilometers above sea level, and a new western disturbance is expected to reach the western Himalayan region from March 9. This could lead to changes in the weather in the coming days.
