His mortal remains will be brought to his native village in Kapkot on Tuesday.

According to reports, 43-year-old Gajendra Singh Gadhiya was posted in the 2nd Para Commando unit of the Indian Army. He was part of ‘Operation Trashi’, a joint search operation against terrorists in Kishtwar. On Sunday, during a search operation in the remote Singhpora area of ​​the Chhatru region, terrorists attacked the security forces with grenades. Havildar Gajendra Singh was critically injured in this attack and succumbed to his injuries while serving the nation.

The soldier is survived by his parents, wife, and two children.

He is survived by his father Dhan Singh Gadhiya, mother Chandra Devi Gadhiya, wife Leela Gadhiya, and two sons. One of his sons is studying in class six in Dehradun, while the other is in class four. His younger brother, Kishore Gadhiya, is also with the family. After receiving the news of his sacrifice, his wife Leela Gadhiya returned to the village from Dehradun.

The martyr’s last rites will be performed with full military honors.

According to family members, the soldier’s mortal remains will be brought to Kedareswar ground by helicopter on Tuesday. ​​His last rites will then be performed with full military honors at the confluence of the Saryu and Khirganga rivers. A large number of people from the area are expected to arrive to pay their last respects.

It is reported that his wife Leela Gadhiya’s health deteriorated upon hearing the news of her husband’s sacrifice. An acquaintance, Vinita Joshi, brought her to the Meladungri helipad in Garur by helicopter. From there, she was taken to a vehicle with the help of a wheelchair and then transported to Kapkot. Subedar Mohan Chandra has also reached Kapkot on the instructions of the army. People are arriving from far and wide to pay tribute to the martyr.

Gajendra Singh Garhiya received his early education at the village school. He then completed his intermediate studies at Government Inter College, Kapkot. In 2004, during his first year of undergraduate studies, he joined the Indian Army, vowing to serve the nation. Upon hearing the news of his sacrifice, a large crowd gathered in the village and surrounding areas. Everyone is paying tribute to the brave son of the soil with tearful eyes.
