A mild earthquake was felt in Rohtak district of Haryana on Sunday afternoon, causing brief panic among the residents. The earthquake measured 3.3 on the Richter scale.
The tremor occurred at 12:13:44 PM. According to reports, the epicenter was located approximately 17 kilometers southeast of Rohtak, between the villages of Sampla and Ismaila.
The earthquake’s latitude was recorded as 28.78 and longitude as 76.73, with a reported depth of 5 kilometers. Due to its shallow depth, the tremors were felt in surrounding areas as well.
Many people rushed out of their homes and offices as soon as they felt the tremors. However, due to the low intensity of the earthquake, no loss of life or property has been reported. The administration is monitoring the situation.
According to experts, an earthquake of this magnitude is considered normal and is unlikely to cause significant damage.
