मध्य प्रदेश: खजुराहो में होटल में खाना खाने के बाद फूड पॉइजनिंग के कारण 3 की मौत, 5 गंभीर
A major tragedy struck Khajuraho, a prominent tourist destination in Madhya Pradesh. Four employees died after consuming food at a resort, while several others remain in critical condition. On Monday evening, around 5 PM, employees working at Hotel Gautam ate their regular meal. Within minutes, they began experiencing symptoms such as vomiting, dizziness, and anxiety, and were rushed to a local hospital. Doctors have attributed the incident to food poisoning.
According to initial reports, a total of 11 people fell ill. Due to their critical condition, several employees were referred to hospitals in Chhatarpur and then Gwalior. Two people died en route to Gwalior, and two more died during treatment at JAH Hospital in Gwalior. The district administration has announced financial assistance of ₹20,000 each to the families of the deceased. The administration identified the deceased employees as Pragilal Kushwaha, Girija Rajak, and Ramswaroop Kushwaha. The identity of the fourth victim, who died during treatment in Gwalior, is yet to be confirmed.
According to reports, six people are currently undergoing treatment in Gwalior. Three of them are on ventilator support, two are admitted to the general ward, and one is reported to be in stable condition. Pramod Rajak, a resident of Khajuraho, stated that three of the patients admitted in Gwalior are in extremely critical condition.
Locals say the employees had eaten potato and cauliflower curry with rotis (flatbread) before suddenly falling ill. The administration, suspecting food poisoning, has sealed the entire resort pending an investigation. It is reported that the resort owner, Vinod Kumar Gautam, currently resides in Belgium, raising further questions about the investigation.
The incident has also sparked political controversy. State Congress President Jitu Patwari wrote on social media that while ministers were holding a cabinet meeting in the same district, poor employees were dying, yet the government remains silent. He questioned the government’s silence on the deaths of the poor, the absence of the responsible minister, and the Chief Minister’s apparent avoidance of accountability.
