In Mallahan Purwa, Kaisarganj, Bahraich, on Saturday night, a wolf attacked a four-month-old child sleeping with his mother. Villagers searched for the child throughout the night, but he remains missing. They haven’t even found any trace of his body. The mother is distraught with grief.

Four-month-old child becomes victim

The incident has sparked outrage throughout the area. Upon receiving information about the incident, DFO Ram Singh Yadav himself reached the banks of the Ghaghra River, where a search for the man-eating wolf is underway. However, neither the child nor the wolf has been found yet.

The DFO said that searches were conducted in the surrounding areas on Sunday morning. They are also searching along the riverbanks and in all suspected areas, but so far, there is no trace of the child. Fear of the wolf has forced people to stay indoors. A pall of fear hangs over the entire region.

Last month, the forest department killed four wolves, and it was believed that the wolf attacks had ended. However, the renewed attacks, which began on November 28th, have once again instilled fear in the area. The DFO stated that since the attacks resumed, ten people have lost their lives, and about three dozen people have been injured in wolf attacks.
