Incident in Vayalur, Thiruvallur District
This tragic accident occurred at a power plant being constructed in Vayalur, near Ponneri, Thiruvallur District. It is reported that more than 30 workers were working on the fourth floor of the building when the accident occurred.

Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed grief
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin posted on the social media platform X, “I am deeply saddened to hear the news that nine workers from Assam have died in an accident during the construction of a power plant being built by BHEL in Ennore. I express my deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. I have directed the minister and officials to immediately go to the site and carry out relief work.”
Announcement of compensation of Rs. 10 lakh each
He further wrote, “I have also ordered that the families of the deceased workers be given a compensation of Rs. 10 lakh each and arrangements be made to transport their bodies to their home states.”
