Flood like situation in Nashik due to rising water level in Godavari river due to rain

Due to heavy rains in Nashik, Maharashtra, the Godavari river is in spate. The water level of the river is constantly rising, due to which flood-like conditions have arisen in many parts of the city. The administration and local police are on alert. Assistant Police Inspector Satish Shirsat of Nashik said, due to continuous rain, the water of Godavari river is rising rapidly. Keeping in view the safety, orders have been given to close the nearby shops.
The police is continuously patrolling so that no untoward incident happens. Local people have been advised to move from low-lying areas to safer places. The administration has also asked the NDRF and fire brigade to remain alert. According to experts, if the rain continues like this, the situation may worsen. Godavari water has entered many areas, affecting traffic and life.
