Dehradun | 53 challans were issued for encroachment and fine of ₹ 36400 imposed

In Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, action was taken against encroachment by issuing 53 challans and imposing a fine of ₹ 36400.

Dehradun: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami ji has given instructions to take effective action against encroachment. Under the direction of District Magistrate Mrs. Sonika, action is being taken to remove encroachment by the teams under the encroachment free campaign. Today, action was taken to remove encroachment from places like Ghatanghar-Dilaram Chowk, Vijay Colony, Hathibarkala, Kamla Palace Shimla Bypass, Mehuwala etc.

The Municipal Corporation issued 53 challans and imposed a fine of Rs 36,400. The police issued 36 challans and imposed a fine of Rs 11,000. Similarly, RTO issued 15 challans and imposed a fine of Rs 7500. The District Magistrate has directed the officers of the concerned departments to run regular campaigns against encroachment and free the footpaths and roads from encroachment and under any circumstances do not allow unauthorized encroachment and any kind of undesirable activities to be carried out.

From the beginning of the encroachment free campaign on January 13, 2024 till now, about 4328 challans have been issued by the Municipal Corporation, Police and RTO in which an amount of Rs. 1082399 has been recovered.
