बंगाल: TMC नेता शौकत मोल्ला के बेटे के कैफे पर बुलडोजर राजनीति, अतिक्रमण का आरोप

On Thursday, the district administration carried out a demolition drive using bulldozers against a café owned by the son of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Saukat Molla in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. The administration alleges that the café was built by encroaching upon government land. According to officials, the illegal structure was not removed despite repeated notices, prompting the demolition action.

Bulldozer Action Follows Multiple Notices

According to government officials, the café—operating under the name ‘Aranyer Kule’—was illegally constructed by encroaching upon the Matla River. It was run by Imran Molla, the son of Saukat Molla. The administration stated that the Molla family had been issued multiple notices directing them to remove the structure. Although a final deadline of June 29 was set, the structure remained in place, leading the administration to proceed with the demolition.

Action Taken Amidst Police and Central Force Deployment

A large contingent of police personnel and central forces was deployed to prevent any untoward incidents during the demolition. Extensive security arrangements were put in place for the operation. So far, there has been no official statement from Saukat Molla or his family regarding this matter.

Troubles Mount Following NIA Arrest

Saukat Molla was arrested last month by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with a bomb blast case that occurred in March of this year. Prior to the arrest, the NIA had also conducted a search of his residence. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the West Bengal Police arrested Debraj Chakraborty—a former Trinamool Congress councilor of the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation in North 24 Parganas district—in a case involving disproportionate assets.
