Young men are seen in the video praising the party. As soon as the video circulated on social media, the police swung into action, immediately arresting the five individuals involved and sending them to jail. The incident occurred at Darbhanga Ghat, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Dashashwamedh police station in Varanasi.

It is reported that the video is not recent. The footage clearly shows the five accused cooking mutton on a boat in the Ganges and consuming beer from numerous cans. After the video went viral yesterday evening, the police took immediate action, tracked down and arrested the five accused, registered a case against them for hurting religious sentiments, and sent them to jail.
Police preparing for strict action
It is worth noting that despite previous enforcement actions, some anti-social elements continue to hurt religious sentiments by holding parties on the Ganges. Consequently, the police are now planning to implement stricter measures to curb such parties.
Mutton and chicken party on a BJP-nominated councilor’s boat
Reports indicate that the boat where the mutton and beer party took place belonged to Satya Narayan Nishad, a BJP-nominated councilor representing the Agastkunda area of Varanasi. Satya Narayan Nishad’s son, Arun Kumar Sahni, has been arrested in connection with the case. Arun Kumar Sahni is among the five accused. The police have sent all the accused to jail.
