The woman, who came into the spotlight following this incident, has been identified as Barkha Trehan. Trehan had previously made headlines for standing in support of convicted rapist Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
Barkha Trehan: Supporter of Rapist Sengar
Following the ink-throwing incident, Mohammed Zubair, co-founder of the fact-check website Alt News, identified the woman as Barkha Trehan. He noted that she is a ‘Modi bhakt‘ (devotee) and a men’s rights activist. She had recently been at Jantar Mantar to support convicted rapist Kuldeep Sengar. Additionally, Trehan had once tied a Rakhi to PM Modi. Zubair shared several of her past posts to substantiate these claims.

According to her social media accounts, Barkha Trehan is an equal rights activist who believes in a gender-neutral society. She advocates for men’s issues and describes herself as the founder of the ‘Men’s Commission.’ On LinkedIn, she identifies herself as an activist, a voice for men, the founder of the Men’s Commission, an entrepreneur, an egalitarian, and a constitutionalist.
Protest in Support of Rapist Sengar
Barkha Trehan, the head of the organization known as the ‘Men’s Commission,’ had previously supported former BJP MLA and Unnao rape case convict Kuldeep Singh Sengar. She had staged a protest at Jantar Mantar in his support, advocating for his right to bail and the suspension of his sentence. Regarding the opposition to the suspension of Kuldeep Sengar’s life sentence in the Unnao rape case, Barkha Trehan had stated that the court’s order should be respected and that politics surrounding rape cases should cease. At that time, placards reading “I Support Kuldeep Sengar” were also seen in her hands.
It is noteworthy that Barkha Trehan, who infiltrated a CJP protest and threw ink at Abhijit Dipke, was apprehended by the protesters and handed over to the Delhi Police. Subsequently, she alleged that she had been assaulted after the ink-throwing incident. As the police were escorting her away from Jantar Mantar in custody, she claimed she had been beaten. When the media asked her the reason for throwing the ink, she chanted “Jai Shri Ram.” According to sources, Trehan has been taken into custody by the police, though it remains unclear whether a case has been registered against her.
