Delhi Police Team Attacked With Chilli Powder And Bricks-Sticks During Patrolling Duty; India

A mob attacked a police team in Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairy after a vehicle was impounded. During the attack, chilli powder was thrown at the police personnel, and they were beaten with sticks and rods, leaving three officers injured.

An incident involving an attack by a violent mob on a police team on duty has been reported from Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairy area. On Saturday afternoon, around 3:30 PM, police personnel were conducting routine patrolling and vehicle checks. During this process, the police impounded a vehicle, prompting the vehicle’s owner and others to attack the police team. It is alleged that the mob threw chili powder at the officers and assaulted them with bricks and sticks. Three police personnel are reported to have been injured in the incident.

Attack Occurred After Vehicle Was Impounded

According to the Delhi Police, officers were on patrol in the area on Saturday. A vehicle was impounded during a check. Subsequently, a group of people, including the vehicle’s owner, arrived at the scene and assaulted the police personnel. Chili powder was used during the attack, and the police team was also struck with bricks and sticks.

The police have identified a notorious local criminal, Sunil (alias Pankaj), as the prime attacker. According to the police, Pankaj has a prior criminal record involving five cases, including serious offenses. Following the incident, the police took action and apprehended a juvenile suspect at the scene.

Video of the Attack Surfaces

A video that emerged after the incident shows individuals wielding sticks and attacking the police team. The footage captures the mob engaging in violence against the police personnel. Following the incident, the police have intensified their search for other suspects involved in the case.

Police teams are actively searching for the other attackers who remain at large. Currently, three police personnel are reported injured. This attack on the police team while on duty in the Bhalswa Dairy area has raised serious questions regarding the safety of police personnel during patrolling and vehicle checks.
