A massive fire broke out on Tuesday at Dakshin Energy Industries, located within the Pharma City in Paravada, Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh. Two workers have reportedly died in the incident, and several others have been injured. There are fears that the death toll could rise.
The incident occurred at the Dakshin Energy complex situated in Paravada, on the outskirts of the port city. Panic gripped the entire area following the outbreak of the fire. Upon receiving the information, police, fire, and rescue teams rushed to the site and immediately launched relief and rescue operations.
Firefighters are continuously working to bring the blaze under control. Simultaneously, a rescue operation is underway to safely evacuate those trapped inside the factory. The injured employees have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Senior officials from the police and fire departments are present at the scene and are closely monitoring the situation. According to preliminary information, 30 to 50 employees typically work in each shift at the factory; however, there is no clear information yet regarding exactly how many people were present on the premises when the fire started or how many managed to escape safely.
The cause of the fire is not yet known. Officials state that the actual situation will only become clear once the fire is fully extinguished and the inspection of the premises is complete. The administration suspects that more employees might be trapped inside; therefore, the possibility of the casualty figures rising cannot be ruled out. Relief and rescue operations are ongoing.
