A startling incident has come to light from the Baldirai police station area in the Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. Here, the blaring volume of a DJ playing during a wedding ceremony resulted in significant damage.
At this wedding, held in Dariyapur village, the festive atmosphere suddenly turned into one of distress when a large number of chickens died at a nearby poultry farm.
According to reports, the wedding of the daughter of Babban Vishwakarma, a resident of Dariyapur village, took place on April 25. The wedding procession (Baraat) had arrived from Ram Bhadra Purwa village in the Kudwar area. The DJ accompanying the procession was playing at full volume, and the attendees were engrossed in dancing and singing. As the procession made its way through the village, it passed directly in front of Sabir Ali’s poultry farm.
Chaos Ensues Due to Loud Noise
Sabir Ali, the owner of the poultry farm, stated that the volume of the DJ music was excessively loud. Furthermore, the sound was accompanied by intense vibrations, which terrified the chickens inside the farm. This sudden noise and vibration created a stampede-like situation among the birds. Driven by panic, many chickens began crashing into one another, and within a short span of time, approximately 140 chickens perished.
Farm Owner Files FIR
Sabir Ali recounted that he had appealed to the DJ operators and the wedding guests to lower the volume, but no one heeded his request. He maintains that had the volume been lowered in a timely manner, such a massive loss could have been averted. As a result of this incident, he has also suffered a severe financial loss.
Distressed by the incident, Sabir Ali filed a complaint at the local police station. Recognizing the gravity of the matter, the police took immediate cognizance of the situation. Sub-Inspector Bharat Singh took action in the case and registered a formal complaint against the DJ operator. The accused has been identified as Kavi Yadav, a resident of Parsipur in the Kudwar area.
Investigation to Include Scientific Analysis
The police are now conducting a thorough investigation into the matter. Efforts are underway to determine whether loud noises and vibrations were, in fact, the primary cause of the chickens’ deaths. With the assistance of experts, an attempt will also be made to understand the impact that such sounds have on animals. Following this incident, questions regarding noise pollution have once again come to the fore. Playing loud music via DJs at weddings and other ceremonies has become a common practice, but its adverse consequences are now beginning to manifest. This incident highlights the dangerous effects of excessive noise—not only on humans but on animals as well.
