The fire department has recovered the girl’s body.
More than 50 huts were reduced to ashes in a massive fire that broke out in a slum in Delhi’s Rithala area early Thursday morning. The incident is reported to have occurred near the Rithala Metro Station. Fire and police teams rushed to the scene and began rescue and relief operations.
According to reports, the Delhi Fire Service received information about the fire in the huts at around 4:15 a.m. on Thursday. Around 15 to 16 fire vehicles were dispatched to the scene. Due to the densely populated area, the fire spread rapidly and engulfed several slums.
Firefighters, along with local police, launched a rescue and relief operation. After extensive efforts, the fire was nearly brought under control by around 6:30 a.m. According to preliminary information, the slum contained over 50 huts, most of which were reduced to ashes.
Meanwhile, while searching the debris after the fire was extinguished, the charred body of a girl was recovered, which the fire department handed over to the police. Previously, reports of a girl missing after the fire had also surfaced. It is believed she died in the fire, although the police are investigating the matter.
At present, the cause of the fire is unknown. Police and fire department teams are investigating the scene. Officials say that all aspects are being investigated to determine the cause. After the incident, there was an atmosphere of panic in the area and the affected families were taken to safe places.
