The bus was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu. The deceased included two foreign nationals, a man and a woman. However, their nationality is unknown.

According to a report in The Kathmandu Post, Nepal Police recovered 17 bodies, but a seriously injured person also succumbed to their injuries. This brings the death toll to 18. The remaining injured have been hospitalized and are receiving treatment.

According to local media reports, the bus was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu when, due to some reason, the driver lost control of the bus and plunged into the Trishuli River. Shishir Thapa, Chief of the District Traffic Police Office, Dhading, said the death toll has risen to 18. Rajkumar Thakur, Chairman of the Highway Rescue Management Committee, also commented on the incident. He said 25 injured passengers were sent to the hospital for treatment. There were more than 35 passengers on board. The nighttime rescue operation posed significant difficulties. However, with the help of the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, and local residents, everyone was rescued. It’s worth noting that similar accidents have occurred in Nepal before.
