This follows a powerful 7.5-magnitude earthquake earlier this week that struck the north and caused fissures, minor damage, and a tsunami along the Pacific coast. At least 34 people were injured in the quake that struck off the coast of Aomori, the northernmost prefecture on Japan’s main island of Honshu, on Monday.
