A Swift car collided with a canter near the Butrada flyover in Shamli. The impact was so severe that four young men died on the spot. Liquor bottles were found in the car, and the police are investigating.

A shocking road accident occurred in Shamli district, Uttar Pradesh. A speeding Swift car rammed into a parked truck near the Butrada flyover on the Panipat-Khatima highway. The impact was so severe that the car was completely destroyed, and the four young men inside died tragically on the spot.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred around 1 a.m. The Swift car (number HR-19K-8004) is said to be from Charkhi Dadri. The four young men were reportedly heading towards Muzaffarnagar.

As they approached the Butrada flyover, the car suddenly lost control and slammed into the rear of the parked truck. The sound of the crash was so loud that people nearby rushed to the scene.

Bodies were recovered by cutting the car.

The impact was so severe that the front portion of the car was completely crushed, trapping the four young men inside. Police arrived at the scene and cut the car open with a gas cutter to retrieve the bodies. The car was completely damaged in the accident. Police arrived at the scene, took the bodies into custody, and sent them to the district hospital for post-mortem.

ASP and police station arrived at the scene

As soon as the information was received, ASP Santosh Kumar Singh and the Babri police station arrived at the scene. Police have taken the canter into custody and launched an investigation. The driver is currently absconding. The ASP stated that preliminary investigations revealed that the car was from Charkhi Dadri and the four young men in it were heading towards Muzaffarnagar.

Liquor bottles found in the car

During the investigation at the scene, liquor bottles were also found inside the car. This raises the suspicion that the young men in the car were intoxicated at the time of the accident. Police are now investigating this angle as well. Information has been sent to nearby police stations to identify the bodies.

A long traffic jam occurred on the highway following the accident. By morning, the police had cleared the road and restored traffic. Locals were in a state of panic following the incident. They say accidents occur regularly near this flyover, yet no safety measures have been taken.

Negligence will be investigated – Police

ASP Santosh Kumar Singh said, “Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident occurred due to speeding and reckless driving. Alcohol bottles were also recovered from the car. Efforts are underway to identify the four deceased, and their families are being informed.” Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem examination and initiated further investigation. Upon receiving news of the accident, relatives and villagers rushed to the hospital, where the atmosphere was somber.
