According to the National Center for Seismology, earthquake tremors were felt in Tibet on Friday. The earthquake came at 9:27 am and 27 seconds according to Indian time. Its intensity on the Richter scale was measured at 4.2. Its depth was 20 kilometers. Earlier, an earthquake had also occurred here on Sunday. Its intensity was 3.8. The depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometers. There was no loss of life or property in it. This earthquake came after a 5.7 magnitude earthquake in the same area on May 12.
Earthquakes occur here repeatedly
Earthquakes occur repeatedly in Tibet. The Tibetan Plateau is known for seismic activity caused by tectonic plate collisions. Tibet and Nepal are located on a major geological line, where the Indian tectonic plate pushes upward into the Eurasian plate. This may be responsible for changing the height of the Himalayan peaks. This activity is the reason why earthquakes keep occurring in Tibet.
Earth quake in Nepal too
On Friday, earthquake tremors were felt in neighboring country Nepal too. An earthquake struck Nepal around 10:30 pm on Thursday night. Its magnitude was measured at 4.3 on the Richter scale and it came at a depth of 10 kilometers. Apart from Nepal, earthquake tremors were also felt in Indonesia and Tajikistan. The magnitude of the earthquake in Tajikistan was 3.9.
Where else did the earthquake occur?
At the same time, the earth shook in southern Sumatra, Indonesia. Its magnitude on the Richter scale was measured at 5.9. According to the German Research Center for Geosciences, the earthquake was 10 kilometers inside the ground. After feeling such strong tremors of the earthquake, people came out of their homes. At present there is no news of anyone being injured or loss of life or property.
