‘शरबत जिहाद’ विवाद: दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट से रामदेव को फटकार, किसी के वश में नहीं हैं बाबा, वह अपनी ही दुनिया में रहते हैं’
The Delhi High Court on Thursday found yoga guru Ramdev prima facie guilty of contempt of court order over his controversial “sharbat jihad” statement against Hamdard’s Rooh Afza and said Ramdev is “not under anybody’s control” and lives in his own world.
The court had earlier ordered him not to issue any future statement or share videos about Hamdard’s products.
Justice Amit Bansal was informed on Thursday that Ramdev had circulated a video making objectionable statements despite the court’s April 22 directions.
He then said, “In view of the previous order, his affidavit and this video prima facie amount to contempt. I will now issue a contempt notice. We are calling him here.”
The judge remarked, “He (Ramdev) is not under anybody’s control. He lives in his own world.”
Ramdev’s lawyer requested the court to hear the case after some time as the lawyers arguing the case were not available.
After this, the court adjourned the hearing for some time.
‘Hamdard National Foundation India’ has filed a petition against Ramdev and his ‘Patanjali Foods Limited’ over the controversial remarks.
The court had last time said that Ramdev’s “sharbat jihad” comment on ‘Hamdard’s’ Rooh Afza was inappropriate and it shook its conscience, after which the yoga guru had assured that he would remove the related videos and social media posts immediately.
