Experts say that strong tremors of earthquake have been felt in both the countries. The epicenter of the earthquake is being reported to be Myanmar. Due to the strong tremors of the earthquake, big buildings in the cities of Bangkok and Myanmar started shaking like boats. Its video is going viral on social media. In the viral video, people are running on the streets screaming.
News of building collapse in Bangkok
There is news of a skyscraper collapsing in Bangkok due to the earthquake. According to the report, the building which was under construction could not withstand the tremors of the earthquake. Similarly, many more videos are going viral after the earthquake, in which the panic after the earthquake is being seen.
According to geologists, the epicenter of the earthquake was near Sagaing on the Southern Coast of Myanmar. Geological Survey and Germany’s GFZ Geological Center said that the afternoon earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). This is why the earthquake was felt so strongly.
It is being said that a small earthquake tremor was also felt in both countries 2 hours before the 7.7 magnitude earthquake.
Water started flowing from pools, people came down the stairs
Due to the earthquake, water started flowing from pools in Thailand and Myanmar. Many buildings are said to have been destroyed. According to local media, alarms started ringing in the buildings when the earthquake occurred and panicked residents were brought down the stairs of high-rise condominiums and hotels in densely populated Central Bangkok. People were asked to stay on the streets to avoid casualties.
