Telangana CM Revanth Reddy allocates portfolios to ministers, keeps home department, law and order

Two days after the formation of the Congress government in Telangana, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday distributed portfolios among ministers.

Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has been given the Finance portfolio, while Dudila Sridhar Babu will handle the Information Technology and Industry ministries. Two days after the formation of the Congress government in Telangana, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday distributed portfolios among ministers.

The Chief Minister has retained municipal administration and urban development, general administration and law and order. He will also hold the responsibility of all other unallocated departments. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka will look after Finance and Planning and Energy. Sridhar Babu will be the Minister of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Industry and Commerce. He will also look after legislative work.

Nalamada Uttam Kumar Reddy has been given irrigation and CAD, food and civil supplies. C. Damodar Rajanarasimha will be the Minister of Health, Medical and Family Welfare, Science and Technology. Komatireddy Venkata Reddy will handle roads and buildings, cinematography and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy will be the minister for revenue and housing and information and public relations. Ponnam Prabhakar will handle the Transport and BC Welfare departments. Konda Surekha will be the Minister of Environment and Forest and Endowment.

Seethakka is the Minister of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (including rural water supply), Women and Child Welfare.

Tummala Nageswara Rao has been allotted the portfolios of Agriculture, Marketing, Cooperation and Handlooms and Textiles while Jupalli Krishna Rao will be the Minister for Prohibition and Excise, Tourism and Culture and Archeology.

The allocation of portfolios came a day after the chief minister visited New Delhi, where he interacted with central party leaders. It is understood that he also discussed cabinet expansion. Let us tell you that Revanth Reddy and 11 ministers took oath on 7 December. Six more ministers can be included in the cabinet.
