Veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away at 5:20 AM today after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his residence

Actor Nana Patekar has passed away. His death has sent a wave of grief through Bollywood. Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Head of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, Goa, stated that Nana was already dead by the time he was brought to the hospital. He was declared dead at approximately 5:30 AM. Doctors and the emergency team made every effort to save him but were unsuccessful.

According to Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Nana was administered cardiac massage for about 45 minutes to an hour, but he could not be revived. The doctor noted that Nana was unresponsive when brought to the hospital.

Messaged a friend at 2:30 AM

Dr. Salkar recounted that, to the best of his knowledge, Nana had messaged a friend around 2:30 AM saying he did not feel well. As it was the middle of the night, the friend did not see the message immediately. Later, he called Nana and arrived at his home around 4:00 AM.

At that time, Nana was sweating profusely. The friend attended to him and provided initial care, but his condition gradually worsened, and he began to lose consciousness. Subsequently, the friend sent Nana’s caretaker to the hospital.

Emergency team attempted to save him

The caretaker arrived at Nana’s home with the hospital ambulance. According to Dr. Shekhar Salkar, when the hospital’s emergency team reached the location, Nana was completely unresponsive. The team immediately initiated cardiac massage, and he was brought to Manipal Hospital around 4:20 or 4:30 PM.

The doctor stated that every effort was made to save him at the hospital, but he had already been brought in dead. Consequently, the matter had to be registered as a medico-legal case (MLC).

Body sent to Goa Medical College for post-mortem

Dr. Salkar informed that Nana Patekar’s body has been taken to Goa Medical College for a post-mortem examination. His family was not present while this process was underway; he was accompanied by his friends and a caretaker.
