Road Caves In After Rain; Youth Falls into Crater
The incident occurred on a road near Lucknow University. According to media reports, a large section of the road collapsed due to heavy rainfall in the city, resulting in a crater about 10 to 12 feet deep and wide. A young man fell into the pit during the incident and was promptly sent to the hospital.
A motorcycle was also found inside the crater. However, the exact circumstances of how or when the motorcycle fell in remain unknown, as no one was present at the scene at the time. Accumulated rainwater on the road further complicated the situation.
Motorcycle Retrieved Using a Crane
Upon receiving information about the incident, police and municipal corporation teams arrived at the scene. A municipal corporation vehicle was also spotted at the site. Officials and staff worked to retrieve the motorcycle from the pit. After considerable effort, the bike was successfully pulled out with the help of a crane.
The crater, measuring 10 to 12 feet in depth, posed a significant danger to pedestrians and motorists, leading to the complete closure of the road. Currently, municipal corporation and police teams are engaged in filling the crater.
