After killing his wife Divya, Manas Bajpai returned to their home at Husadiya Crossing in Gomti Nagar, where he also shot his sister, Sheeba. Later, he committed suicide by shooting himself. According to the police, the accused, Manas, and Divya were involved in a marital dispute.

In a tragic incident in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, a man shot and killed his wife outside a bank, then went home and shot his sister as well, before finally taking his own life by shooting himself. While this sensational incident has left the city’s residents in shock, the police are actively investigating the case.
Murder of Bank Officer Wife Outside the Bank
Initial reports indicated that a female bank officer was shot dead in broad daylight outside a bank in the Vivek Khand area of Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar police station limits. The deceased has been identified as Divya Mishra (37), who worked as a Relationship Manager at the bank. Police stated that Divya was in her car when her husband, Manas Bajpai, called her out and shot her. He then fled the scene; Manas had allegedly been waiting for her in an auto-rickshaw. According to the police, the couple was embroiled in a marital dispute.
Returning Home and Killing His Sister
Before committing the crime, the man spoke briefly with the woman and then shot her before fleeing. Bank employees and bystanders gathered upon hearing the sound of the gunshot. The woman was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Divya Mishra was employed as a Relationship Manager at ICICI Bank, while the accused, Manas Bajpai, worked at the Janakpuram branch of the State Bank of India (SBI).
Subsequently, it was revealed that after killing his wife, Manas Bajpai returned to his home at Husadiya Crossing in Gomti Nagar, where he shot his sister. Regarding the attack on Divya Mishra, an eyewitness recounted, “I was passing by. A young man was holding two pistols. While talking, he drew both pistols and opened fire. Hearing the noise, bank employees rushed out, but the man pointed his pistols at them, causing them to flee back inside. Meanwhile, after the shooting, the man escaped.” The eyewitness stated that the man had arrived in an auto-rickshaw and fled in the same vehicle after the incident. He noted that the auto-rickshaw did not have a rear number plate.
ADCP (East) Amol Murkut stated that Divya Mishra, a resident of Lucknow, worked at a bank in Gomti Nagar. She had just returned from meeting a bank client with her colleagues. The ADCP said that her husband had been lying in wait; he attacked Divya and shot her dead.
Shot himself after killing his wife
DCP (East Lucknow) Diksha Sharma stated that information was received during the day about a woman being shot in the Gomti Nagar police station area. A police team immediately arrived at the scene, and the woman was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. DCP Diksha Sharma said that eyewitnesses reported the woman had been killed by her husband.
DCP Diksha Sharma said, “Shortly after, information was received about a man killing his wife and shooting himself near Husadiya Crossing. When the police reached the scene, the man was identified as Divya’s husband.” DCP Diksha Sharma added that a WhatsApp status had been discovered in which Manas had expressed his intentions regarding the suicide.
