YouTube Removes Over 2.25 Million Videos In India In Q4 2023

Globally, during the fourth quarter of 2023, YouTube removed more than 9 million videos from its platform for violating its community standards. Interestingly, more than 96 percent of these videos were reported by machines rather than people.

YouTube has removed more than 22.5 lakh videos from its platform in India between October and December last year for violating its community guidelines. India has been at the top in the list of video removal, beating countries like America and Russia.

According to YouTube data, Singapore is at second place in the list with 12,43,871 videos removed and America is at third place with 7,88,354 videos removed. Indonesia ranks fourth with 7,70,157 videos removed, while Russia has had 5,16,629 videos removed.

Globally, during the fourth quarter of 2023, YouTube removed more than 9 million videos from its platform for violating its community standards. Interestingly, more than 96 percent of these videos were found through machines rather than people.

YouTube reported that these videos were removed from the platform due to harmful or dangerous content, child safety, violent or graphic content, nudity and sexual content, misinformation and violating other community norms. Along with this, many videos were also removed in compliance with the new IT rules of India.
