Rescue and relief work is going on continuously to rescue the workers trapped in Silkyara Tunnel.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has reached Silkyara in Uttarkashi where workers are still trapped in the tunnel. Dhami is conducting on-site inspection of the landslide incident and reviewing the relief and rescue operations as well as taking information about the incident from various officials.
Rescue and relief work is going on continuously to rescue the workers trapped in Silkyara Tunnel. The work of removing debris is going on. Heavy excavator machines have been deployed to remove the debris. Workers trapped in the tunnel have been contacted through walkie-talkies.
At present all the workers are said to be safe. Oxygen is being supplied through the pipeline laid to supply water in the tunnel. Through this pipeline, packets of gram were sent to the workers trapped in the tunnel at night under pressure through a compressor.
The rescue operation went on throughout the night and is still going on.
Let us tell you that at 5 am on Sunday morning, a major landslide occurred in the tunnel under construction of Navyuga Company from Silkyara to Dandalgaon on Yamunotri National Highway. 35 laborers are trapped in this tunnel. It has now been more than 30 hours. Relief and rescue operations are continuing on a war footing at the spot.
Squads of NDRF, SDRF, Police Fire Brigade, as well as ambulances etc. are engaged in relief and rescue operations. Central agencies have also been sent for help. SDRF and other rescue teams along with the police force are continuously carrying out rescue operations on the spot.
According to the information, the landslide occurred at a distance of 200 meters from the tunnel entrance towards Silkyara, while the workers who were working were 2800 meters inside the vehicle entrance.
Prime Minister Modi also talked to the Chief Minister on phone and took information about this entire incident, and also assured all possible help.
Apart from this, Uttarkashi District Magistrate Abhishek Ruhela has canceled the leaves of all the officers of the district. Efforts are continuing to evacuate all the workers safely.
